CBH Grand Rounds: "Trauma-Informed Intimate Exams: (re)Considering Consent."

Consent to 亲密的考试 is a powerful opportunity for a provider and patient to create a safe, 治疗关系. By prisming consent through the lenses of the trauma-informed care (TIC) framework, an examination of the history and modern conceptualizations of intimate care, and elevating revolutionary socio-cultural shifts in understanding bodily autonomy and consent mid-#MeToo conversations, this discussion offers insight and critique into how 亲密的考试 in health care spaces are discussed by providers and received by patients. Through feminist bioethics and queer theory, a possible conceptualization of this care is offered for both conversation and innovating reframing.
